Adam Love was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. His path to ministry began in his early teens shortly after delivering (reading) his first message for his home congregation on a youth Sunday. Despite the early awareness of his call, he would not answer the call until his mid-30s. As he grew into his calling, with his lovely wife Tracy by his side, he discovered that much of the work of the Church is about building relationships, sharing experiences, and helping others learn and grow while also striving to draw closer to God.
While still in seminary at Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC, Adam took his first appointment as a student pastor at Ann Street United Methodist Church in Concord where he served for two years. After completing seminary, with honors, the Loves moved to Landis - just 7 miles north of the home that they purchased as newlyweds. While Adam served as the pastor at First UMC of Landis, he learned so much about people, gardening, ministry, and the life into which that Lord called both he and his wife.
While in Landis for 4 years, Pastor Adam worked to encourage the congregation through timely messages, spirited singing, a ministry of presence, and a passion for connecting the church with the community. The community garden and blessing box were among the most amazing responses to his love for serving others.
After their time in Landis, the Loves moved to Lenoir, NC where Adam was sent to serve as the director of the Foothills Cooperative Parish and Tracy served a 2-point charge. At the beginning of his appointment, he was welcomed into the community by Rev. Lori Anne Bown (prior to her accident) and Rev. Peter Brown prior to their departures to new appointments. As only God could arrange it, he was able to mentor his new assistant director, Pastor Garrett Brown, grandson of the one and only "Toad" Brown, a beloved former pastor at First UMC of Landis.
In his spare time, Pastor Adam enjoys spending time with his wife; working with wood as an avid woodturner, and he loves admiring the handiwork of other artists; he also finds time to watch the Carolina Panthers - regardless of whether they win or lose.
